A Message from Apostle Estella G. Hudson 🕊️
On this Youth Sunday, I greet you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today, I come not only as a messenger, but as a mother in the faith—with a word of both warning and encouragement. I ask you one piercing, beautiful question in the year 2025:
Will you forgo the will of our Creator to follow the wicked ways of the world?
Let us examine a cautionary tale from the Scriptures—the story of King Manasseh, son of King Hezekiah.
Hezekiah was a man who trusted God with his whole heart (2 Kings 18:5). He tore down idols, restored worship, and sought the Lord with diligence. He built a strong spiritual house rooted in righteousness. And yet, his son Manasseh, who became king at just twelve years old, strayed far from that path.
Manasseh did evil in the sight of the Lord (2 Chronicles 33:2). He rebuilt altars to Baal, worshipped the stars, desecrated the temple of God, and led the people of Judah into more sin than the nations God had destroyed before them. The spiritual house of Israel crumbled because its foundation was no longer Christ-centered.
But here is the mercy of God—when Manasseh was taken into captivity, humbled, and afflicted, he repented. He cried out to the Lord, and God, in His great compassion, forgave him (2 Chronicles 33:12-13). Yes, even the most wicked can find mercy—but oh, what destruction could have been avoided had he walked in obedience early.
Young people, let us not be like Manasseh in his rebellion. Do not wait until the prison of your choices humbles you before God can use you. You do not have to be old to be filled with the Spirit. You do not have to live through decades of disobedience before you surrender. You are called now.
“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…”
— Ecclesiastes 12:1
God has given you talents, vision, time, and purpose. Use it to build a house on the rock (Matthew 7:24-27). Surround yourself with people of equal yoking, spiritually aligned with your purpose (2 Corinthians 6:14). When you marry, build a spiritual house where the legacy of faith grows stronger, not weaker. Hezekiah stood tall, but his lineage faltered because the foundation was not preserved. Let that not be your story.
Let your foundation be rooted in Christ, anchored in love, and filled with the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We are not here just to go with the trends or seek temporary pleasure—we are here to bear eternal fruit.
“I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last…”
— John 15:16
So I say to you, stand strong. Let your youth be your launching pad into greatness in God, not a detour into destruction. Let the life of Manasseh be a reminder of how far we can fall—but more importantly, how gracious our God is to restore those who truly repent.
Choose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). Be the generation that says yes to righteousness, yes to obedience, yes to Jesus.
With love, faith, and power,
Apostle Estella G. Hudson
