A Word from Apostle Estella G. Hudson
“For the Lord disciplines those He loves, and chastises every son whom He receives.”
— Hebrews 12:6
Beloved Family in Christ,
Have you ever wondered why God allows correction in our lives? Just as a loving father disciplines his child, our Heavenly Father uses chastening to shape us into His image and affirm our place as His heirs. For the past two months we’ve explored how the Hebrew church pushed the good news forward. On this Sunday, Apostle Estella G. Hudson taught how enduring the discipline of God and the mistreatment of the world leads us down a straight path of the greatest power ever known: The love of Yahweh.
Chastening Initiates Us in the Royal Family
Illegitimate Without Discipline
Without God’s loving correction, we remain outsiders to His promises. Enduring His discipline confirms us as true children of God. Through our obedience we will make a straight path for our feet.
Apostle Paul wrote that in knowing and following God’s word we strengthen our feeble hands & weak knees. (Heb. 12:12). Holiness isn’t mere outward show—it’s the inward work of Scripture mending our spiritual “ligaments” so we can walk in peace regardless to who is impressing the hatred of the world against us all. To allow the world to make us bitter from what they do will only erode our spirit. This is why Apostle Paul said let your mind be in Christ so the spiritual body’s structure can withstand the alluring entrapment of the flesh; thus making us unshakeable in faith and love.
Aligning Spirit With DNA Birthright
Jacob & Esau teach us:
Faithful submission to the Spirit secures our Heavenly inheritance.
Chasing fleeting pleasures can forfeit blessings given at birth.
Honoring Our Heritage
God has woven talents into our DNA through our ancestors. As we endure His discipline, He brings these gifts to maturity—so don’t sale your birthright like Esau did. Honor what your ancestors were inherently skilled in and inspect yourself in alignment with your spiritual maker who made your loved ones as well.
Putting It Into Practice
Receive God’s Correction
Welcome His discipline as proof of His love.
Reflect: Where has God been guiding your steps through correction?
