Faith in Action

Living Faithfully According to James Chapter 2: By Apostle Estella G. Hudson
1

A Call to Examine Our Faith

This past week, Apostle Estella G. Hudson brought forth a timely and powerful message from James chapter 2, challenging us to consider what it truly means to live by faith. Her teaching emphasized that faith is not just something we speak—it must be something we demonstrate.

Referencing James 2:17, Apostle Hudson reminded us:

“Faith without works is dead.”

She stressed that true faith must be visible through our actions. If we claim belief but produce nothing behind it, then our faith is not alive—it is absent. Faith, she said, must be followed by a mighty work, one that confirms the conviction we carry in our hearts.

Taking Account of Our Steps

Apostle Hudson urged each of us to take account of our steps, encouraging self-reflection about how our walk aligns with the Word of God. She reminded us that our skills, gifts, and everyday decisions should serve a divine purpose: to love our neighbors as ourselves, without bias or favoritism.

She taught from James 2:8, which declares:

“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

This love, she explained, must be impartial—never placing one person above another based on wealth, influence, or status. To show favoritism is to contradict the very nature of Christ and violate the royal law of love.

Faith and Works: A Divine Partnership

Apostle Hudson introduced what she called the Faith-Work Doctrine—a principle grounded in the reality that belief and behavior are inseparable in the life of a believer.

She explained that this doctrine is not just about outward actions. It begins in the mind, is solidified in the heart, and must result in obedience through the body. This psychological and spiritual alignment is the foundation for living faith.

Right belief in the mind.
Conviction in the heart.
Obedience through the body.

When these elements are in place, faith becomes active, visible, and effective.

The Charge to the Believer

Apostle Hudson concluded with a charge: if you believe something, let your life show it. Let your work speak. Let your love be evident. Let your walk reflect the Word.

True faith requires movement. It demands action. And it will always—always—produce fruit.

Let this message be a reminder that belief alone is not enough. We are called to build, serve, love, and live in a way that confirms our commitment to Christ.
